Miss Mazie's Community Garden
Is a bi-community effort involving the Woods at Wayne and Mt. Pleasant neighborhoods located in Wayne, Pa. The neighbors in these two communities are joining together in an effort to make use of a vacant lot which the communities share. The garden provides plot boxes for neighbors to grow a variety of plants, flowers and vegetables. Our ultimate goal is to make good use of whatever produce is grown by helping to provide for needy families in our area in any way that we can.
The Garden was started with 3 goals in mind:
- To make good use of our vacant lot by growing beautiful plants, flowers & vegetables
- To bring neighbors together in a joint effort to help raise funds for Kids First Now!
- To foster new friendships that will grow along with our garden
I have never had so many good ideas day after day as when I worked in the garden.
