The ultimate goal of Miss Mazie's Garden is to benefit the great work being done at Kids First Now! Kids First Now! is committed to offering opportunities that foster responsible citizenship, leadership and self-respect to school aged children in the community by
providing activities that encourage academic, social and cultural growth.
• We believe that every child is capable of learning
• We believe that every child can be a positive contributor to his/her community.
• We believe that self-respect is a direct result of the recognition of personal
accomplishments

The Mt. Pleasant Chapel is open for two hours, several evenings each week for
children to work, read and to pursue other educational interests. Volunteer tutors from
Cabrini College and Villanova University provide individual and small group assistance
and instruction. Computer and (supervised) internet access is also available for school
related projects.

A variety of social activities are offered to the children from all over the Main Line.
They range from Saturday night at the movies, Christmas parties and art classes to sporting
events with younger groups and colleges.

The third facet of Kids First Now! is the cultural enrichment that comes from experiences as
diverse as attending the ballet, theatrical performances, the symphony orchestra to the zoo
and the circus.
Kids First Now! (KFN) was started in 1994 when Kevin Stroman saw a need for positive
youth activity in the local area. Cabrini College and the local YMCA were the first to open their doors to KFN! The Tredyffrin Township Board of Supervisors helped form a Board of
Trustees to oversee the chapel. Community groups, charitable and financial institutions,
and individuals also provided support to refurbish the 1832 Carr School/Mt. Pleasant
Chapel. The seven year restoration project was completed in 2002, and educational activities began there in September of 2003.
